"Railway Adventure" by LTC Rolt is a first hand account of the rescue of the Talyllyn railway, the world's first preserved railway, by the railway general manager.

On the other hand, John B Norwood wrote about his personal experiences as Despatcher of the narrow gauge parts of the Denver and Rio Grande railroad.
