Never noticed anything about the tank roof color int he 1930's untill this post. Wow, your right, pg. 256 of URY pictorial volume II, shows it plainly. Older photo (1911 ish) show solid color. Thanks for bringing that detail to life. Sorry, though, never heard of anything about the colors on the roof. Check out pg. 221 of volume II to see what I believe was the color of much of the uintah's trackside buildings. I've seen it on two other buildings of the same board and batton siding, not to say that the water tanks were or not. Just throwing things out there. As for question #2, I would believe that the boiler plate and builders plate were colored the same..... check this out.
