We have already applied a primer coat and one coat of color to the tongues and grooves of the siding. We use oil based primer from Fine Paints of Europe that we have found works much better than the run-of-the-mill hardware/paint store variety of exterior primer. And based on recommendations from the CRRM, we selected an iron oxide red from their supplier in Denver that matches the original color quite closely, again, an oil paint. And we tend to use linseed oil by the gallon on our projects. I appreciate all the suggestions.
