Wow i had no idea Chris you were interested in these mine cars. In my resaerch for the Cripple Creek and Victor area mines, i had to learn about them as they were an essential part of the infrastructure, and I have learned more from a member of my development team who is a actual real life mining engineer at a large mine in Nevada...he has used cars like this, it turned out i have a near perfect condition one here in my own town of Pagosa Springs, probably from the mines at Crede, at the site of the former famous town Doctor, Dr Mary Fisher who treated many miners and I susepct she was given the car as a gesture of thanks many many years ago.
the car had some mysteries for me, as i didnt konw about that lever in the back which Dean tells me is to lock the car on the track so that it can then be dumped. or that some of the swiveled , i dont know if mine did, as i cant bend down that far, but i took all of the pictures and measurements i could and we are making digital models of them which we plan to animate and also plan to make the engines too.
here is a set of pictures of the car for any who are interested.
