Well if you recharge the train air after you dump it into emergency, you should have all your air back in the brake pipe in a few minutes. As far as where to get the air, depends on the fitting on the jackhammer's hose, sometimes you can come straight off the air tank off the drain valve, or perhaps off the front angle cock straight to the brake system (I would assume off the main reservoir, meaning you don't need to recharge the brakes)

As far as where the jackhammer came from, could have been brought up on a motor car, or it could be in a tool box on the engine somewhere.


I don't know for sure, but that would be my best guess.
