Speaking of reading the fine print....
Who ever said the film is Black and White. Just because we colorize the photos doesn't mean we are altering the film, and why should we when it is in C O L O R! Granted its 1954 and 1956 vintage so the color isn't great, but its the way it is, and we aren't changing anything, except to edit it like a normal video production. There is no train sounds, and we aren't going to fake them either. There is pertinent narration and pleasant, appropriate, background music to carry the audio track throughout!
So, back the real issue...colorized images. The main reason we are colorizing them is to have it look somewhat like the film(color that is). If the films were Black and White, then you have an altogether different situation, and you are right, that an emblem should be used to say B&W footage, or simply leave the images B&W, which I would be comfortable doing in that case.
To me the bigger issue in all this is the condition of the film being 8mm, not 16mm which spoils many a video tape buyer!! Most of this film is pretty decent but there are a few rough spots of fuzzy focus(either in shooting or transfer), and other factors associated with film nearly 50 years old. But thats the way it is and its going to be priced reasonable considering the content.
