While it is really sad to not see this happens, mountain railroading, snow, ice, and a bunch of passengers make for some very tense moments for the crew, I know I am sad about the cancellation, but seeing those snow pictures and knowing what that means for running an uneventful event. Every inch of snow makes it that much more likely that this event becomes exponentially more difficult.
Railroading on modern equipment in less than ideal conditions is dangerous for the crew, I could only imagine the difficulty the crew would have been up against on this.
Its good to see a leader at the C&TS who has given us one of the most spectacular seasons in the last few years know when to so when. I know the decision did not come lightly, but bravo making the right call!
