Both the Katy and the MoPac had engine houses and shops in Sedalia, so it has been a railroad town and those places tend to respect and preserve equipment better. I've got most of the blacksmith equipment from an auction at the MoPac car shops in Sedalia.
The 3' gauge Sedalia, Warsaw and Southern began in the Katy yard, near the roundhouse, and extended south for a mile along the Katy line before crossing it and heading south. So a 3' gauge stockcar in Sedalia might not be completely out of place, but the D&RGW stockcars are larger than the 22' long stockcars that the SW&S had. Like the rest of their narrow gauge cars, they were only 8 ton cars.
