Alamosa 1965 Mystery MOW Car

A friend of mine the late Ron Harr visited the Colorado NG in 1965 and took many photos. He shared a small sampling with me of various MOW equipment sitting in the yard at Alamosa. I am puzzled at the purpose of this car with some sort of box mounted above the flat car deck. It is just behind derrick OP.
