Isn't this enough to make you scream - another example of the "textbook smart common sense stupid" modern engineers creating a crisis where one didn't exist. The wall had been standing perfectly safe and sound for years and years, and would still have been standing long after all of us are long dead and gone, but no, things had to be "improved!!" ARRRGH!!
