Yes, it is too bad, considering that a lot of taxpayers dollars (and gambling contributions) are going into the restoration of the C&S equipment that the public will not be able to see this equipment.
it is my understanding that some of the restoration grant money was given, with the expressed codicil, that the equipment be stored inside a shelter. I guess that the CHS feels that this sort of inaccessible cocoon is shelter enough.
Richard Boulware and I contacted them as to the proper colors to paint this equipment. We were told in so many words that they had all ready decided on the (wrong) color and to keep our noses out of it. I understand that they will be painted the incorrect Pullman Green rather than the correct Coach (or Olive) Green.
To give credit where credit is due, I am thankful that the equipment is being restored. But...This is a Historical Society, Can't they do it right???
I love it when a Historical Society rewrites history to their own liking. How thoughtful... What a resource for future generations...
So for all of you who want to see it... (including me)... too bad... Get away from those choo-choo's and get a life!!!
