More senior conductors were working the narrow gauge out of Alamosa. R.N. Moore was No. 14 and Norman Roberts No. 15 in seniority out of Alamosa on the 1940 list. William Connelly and Walter Ashbrook, whom Moore and Roberts replaced, were No. 19 and 20. Edward B. Curtis, who was the senior conductor out of Alamosa in the mid-1950s, was No. 17 in 1940.
R.N. Moore was hired as a brakeman on 37-1908 and promoted to conductor on 9-21-1914. Roberts' brakeman date was 7-14-1908 and his conductor date was 10-14-1917.
