Only one long distance train, the Tren Crucero, a Highram Bingham, Perurail style Luxury train the will travel from Quito to Duran and return. It is scheduled to travel 4 days and three overnight stays in local resort Hotels near Bucay, Riobamba and Lasso. Total capacity for new train is nearly 50 pax per trip. Steam is scheduled on two days from Duran to Riobamba. Price is $1000+ per passenger double occupancy with many extra tours, most meals and hotels. At this time no other steam is on other trains.

Several other shorter trains are scheduled over different parts of the route using diesels and railcars. One of the shortfalls of this plan there is no local trains over the full route at this time scheduled. I think it will take a few years to see how the new business plan has to be modified to meet real demands. One thing that long time fans of the G&Q is this is not going to be the quient rustic narrow gauge, this will be closer to Silverton Train or Train at the end of world operation. New track, new trains and tourism oriented operations.
