Miracle occurs - Ecuador 1st. train Quito to Duran.

The miracle has occurred. The first official train has arrived in Duran originating from Quito. Because it was a celebratory it took four days. It had originally done Quito to Guamote.
On January 28 and 29 the train travelled for the first time from Guamote to Duran stopping at Alausi, Sibambe, Huigra. Bucay, Milagro and Yaguachi with celebrations at each station. It did Guamote to Bucay January 28 and Bucay to Duran January 29. To describe this event as a miracle understates the position as this railroad was a running corpse.
Full credit to FEEP General Manager, Jorge Eduardo Carrera who has done more than anyone.
The railway Quito-Durán is now ready for business and Tren Crucero, will travel this stretch from June 2013.
I attach some old photos before rehabilitation with Bucay railcar No.95.
The magnificent condition of the track is clear as the bridge.
