At one time the Rio Grande Southern was looking at buying or leasing the three consolidations engines that were from the Crystal River Railroad, but only for a short time was that an option in their minds.
I thought that the reason that they didn't take the engines on was that they were too heavy for the line. But then towards the end of the RGS life they purchased C&S 74 which was a pretty heavy consolidation.
Was money and timing most of the problem? The Geese must have saved the company more money than we know.
