Alamosa engineer W.(William) I. Marsh probably was thankful to work every day. He had five children at home. Since he was 22 years older than his wife Clara, Marsh was father to 3-year-old at an age when most men were well into grandfatherhood. He made $3,100 in 1939. His house in Alamosa was valued at $6,500 in 1930.
Marsh, born circa 1883, started as a fireman on 8-30-1906 and promoted to engineer on 12-2-1909. He received a disability penson in 1946.
The Marshes apparantly left the area after he retired as there are no burial records of them in Colorado. There is a grave of Clara Mae (Darrow) Marsh (1903-1996) in Lee County, VA. She was the wife of William Isaac Marsh, who was not buried with her. Maybe she was the wife of the engineer.
