The L&B is also deeply into construction of a replica of the Baldwin engine "Lyn," but with a number of modifications such as roller bearings on all axles, piston valves (hidden inside slide valve casings, superheater, and so on.)
The Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum in Maine is engaged in a similar project, having laid track on 2.6 miles of the original right of way, restoring an original locomotive (nearly finished) and two original freight cars, built two replica freight cars and acquired the only surviving WW&F coach.
