Of course it might have been a year or two earlier, if some harried clerk just copied an older entry for the 1902 roster... I wonder how high a priority updating the dimensions on 3' ga passenger stock held at the turn of the last century on the D&RG.
BTW, does anyone know if there were, given the flexibility of wooden car lengths re compression ve tension, set rules for conditions of measuring the cars? (Rule xxxa: "When measuring wooden cars for roster purposed, hook an engine up and push 'em together.")
Also, has anybody actually gone and measured the body on 256 in recent years?
