IIRC, just before seven K-28's were sent to Alaska there were ten K-28's, ten K-36's and ten
K-37's at work on the D&RGW, plus a few K-27's and various C-class engines in use as yard
switchers and on branch lines. So the D&RGW sent fewer than 20% of their engines to sup-
port the war effort, not "more than half" as stated by Mr. Harper. So much for histörical accuracy.
Perhaps, in light of the cargo carried by the RGS and D&RGW in the early 1940's, it would be more appropriate to place a full-scale replica of "Fat Man" or "Little Boy" near the depot. But that might have an even more negative effect on visitors from Asia than a tank
