While the American railroaders are hard at work and others are sitting down to Turkey Dinners spare a thought for the Brits now into their second year at war. Just 2 nights earlier, my Grandparents house in London took a direct hit by a UXB, buried alive under the stairs was my Mother, Aunt and both Grandparents. They were to be bombed out of their next house the following April. My Dad was at this time somewhere mid-Atlantic on his way to England.
