Ive got a quick video of her on youtube, on our new extension. The video was tanken about a week ago, when we had approx 18 feet of track. We are now just shy of 30 (28), and still going. All is hand cut ties, hand laid with 14 ties per foot, 4 spikes per tie. We are over 400 ties, and 1600 spikes!!
We are very proud of our model, and as it is our first engine, we are still waiting to find out what part brakes first. We might have 2 hours of run time between testing on layout, and back and fourth on our original track work at my parents house. So far, that motor cannot be stalled. The engine can be held still, and the motor powers through any friction almost unnoticed. With the 23 to 1 gear box, however, she will absolutely crawl. That coupled with the battery power, there is NO jumping or flickering of any kind. The track still needs to be kept clean for smooth operation, just no worries about conductivity.
Enjoy
