Re: RGS Coach # 252

The RGS 252 is currently owned by the Western Railway Preservation Society which works together with the Sumpter Valley RR on restoration projects. You see, the Sumpter Valley was formed to preserve Sumpter Valley Railway equipment. However, we have gathered a fair collection of other equipment up here in McEwen that falls outside of the SVRR charter.

Seeing that much of this non-SVRR equipment needed preservation work, a group of us SVRR members formed this new 501(c)(3) to take care of the equipment that fell outside of the original SVRR charter. Since then we have expanded our efforts in acquiring other rolling stock for restoration including D&RGW outfit car 04951 and the RGS #252.

The WRPS does put out a regular newsletter along side the regular SVRR newsletter. If anyone would like to send me an e-mail address, I would be happy to e-mail you the latest newsletter and add you to our e-mail list for future newsletters if you like.

For now, you can take a look at; WRPS Newsletters for our past newsletters including the Boulder Caboose story from Jason Midyette. The web site needs to be updated but this list of newsletters should bring you up to date on what we have been up to.

P.S. Rod; when you have the RGS rebuilt, I will personally make sure that the 252 comes home, but not just for a visit, for good.
