Per Jeff Ellingson, it was only the second time this season that the D&SNG has
double-headed #473 & #478 - most of the time one or the other runs as a helper
with a K-36.

Earl had invited me to ride with him on Saturday, so I got up early and went down to the enginehouse to get some pics of the morning preparations. After briefly checking out some of the SL&RG's possible future motive power (see [
ngdiscussion.net]), I caught the hostler getting #18 ready for the day.
