Still have to letter the rear passenger box, we had very high winds this weekend, but should get her finished during our annual work week June 4 - 7. We're using computer-generated die-cut lettering, and so far it's going really well. the company that did this for us spent many hours with digitized historic photos getting everything right, down to the sometimes strangely shaped lettering. There are places with peculiar cutoffs and bumps, and they managed to reproduce all of them, so if some of the lettering looks a bit crude, it took a whole lot of effort and technology to get it that crude! We think it's as accurate a re-lettering as can possibly be done.
Now all we have to do is get those 9-foot long heralds on there straight! We think the old girl will "clean up real well" for Goosefest.
As far as when and where to return to Telluride, that is mostly up to the Telluride Volunteer Fire Department, the owners. Nothing is decided yet, and No. 4 will spend most, probably all, of the summer and fall in Ridgway. Karl may have more info at Goosefest, but probably not much. There is still some detail work to do, and then the plans have to be worked out. So, restoration 98 % done, next phase yet to be determined. Until details are finalized, we'll take good care of her here at home in Ridgway.
