Los Pinos Water Tank

The last few days I came across some photos of the tank in Rio Grande Days and compared them to what the tank looks like today. To me it now looks either shorter, or the sides are not tapered, It just does not look the same. It now has half as many bands as it used to. I know it was rebuilt in the mid eighties. Is there something different or am I just having halucinations due to coal smoke withdrawls.
