I don't know if the transaction has been finalized or not but the C&TS Comission did agree to trade assuming satisfactory terms could be agreed on. Some of the issues brought up was that the car didn't come with trucks and NG trucks of any type are scarce much less passenger truck, there is only one draft gear with no other available at the museum, and what historic parts still remain with the car ( seats, luggage racks, fixtures, ect. ) Bassically typical government in action , they agreed to work on an agreement. I think they have plans to visit Melcher Brothers in Durango this month to discuss the trucks problem. Also they discussed the Comission restoring the car instead of The Friends to have the car ready for revenue service much faster. The use of the car was up in the air. Possibly to be used as a special car for VIPs. Not sure about regular service.
