Fire threat

Overall, a good letter except nothing has burned around the C&TS. The RR has been shut down because of the fire threat, not because of any actual fire. I think it is important to point out that it is a governmental edict that is killing the towns - not carelessness on the part of the RR - and therefore the government has a responsibility to make amends.
Even *when* the C&TS resumes operations the preception that the whole place is toast will be a problem in terms of bringing on tourists. There is an international misconception that the whole of Colorado and New Mexico are in flames. Overcoming this misconception will be as big a hurdle as anything else, one which could take years to overcome so we might as well make sure we start fighting it now.
