No question they ordered a lot of engines. Records suggest in 1922 they ordered 50 Henschels (101-150) and 25 Baldwins (1-25). I have heard the Henschels were ordered first, the Baldwins later, but the Baldwins may have delivered first. In addition there were six smaller tank engines from Henschel. I have to wonder if all those engines actually ran on the line, or if some got diverted elsewhere.
We had a good example of some parts being switched while at Ing. Jacobacci. Henschel No. 104 bent a rod and it was fixed by getting a replacement from a sister that was stuffed and mounted in a park, don't know the number.
Seems to me some posters here have identified similar swaps to locos on the DRGW. It would seem logical, especially as some locos of a class were retired.
