D&SP&P coach 7 the
"COMO" would be a absolute gem to see it on public display back in Colorado and no other place would be better than where else than Como. You got to applaud the conservation efforts by the present owners in Uva, Wyoming. The COMO was built by the DSP&P shops in Denver in September, 1879. Today the windows on sides of the car are double hung due to a rebuilding at some point in the car operating career possibly when it was converted to a combine by the C&S. Personally it is my favorite unrestored carbody in existance.
Got to love that original 2 tone 1879 "D.S.P.& P.R.R." lettering in a oval and floral ornamentation around the "7" above the end door. Notice the original 1879 downward opening single sash windows in the end of the car in the image on the right.
Below is the "COMO" after it was renumbered the 56 (1885) at Como Colorado, early to mid 1890s.
Coach 56 in the 1890s.
