The young lady was doing a fine job. But somebody please give her a pair of gloves before she accidentally burns herself. And why did the conductor get off a moving locomotive? The Class 1's have banned that practice.
Now, would somebody tell me why, in this day and time, we are even having a discussion about the gender of the engineer? Heck, the Georgetown Loop had a fine lady engineer who did a first-rate job--20 years ago or more. She worked the crew rotation as a member of the team, without any question about her gender or abilities--or the color of her hair. I still see her from time to time, and while she has moved on into other endeavors, steam still runs strong in her blood.
