That is very similar to what I observed on a crew out of Salida. I think there was a standard and the old heads abided by it for the most part. I think that later in the 60's this may have become relaxed some. I have seen pics of Ben Greathouse in 1967 or 1968 who was wearing a very similar outfit to these--the dark denim.

John Cole yes that is a tell-tale.
