For heavens sake, Eritrea the most dangerous place in the world. Bush had Ecuador and Peru on the banned list as well and I could not think of safer places. For that matter I think Venezuela is also on the current banned list.
I agree both Venezuela and Ecuador are definitely run by "communists". These people had the nerve to sell the oil when previously the yanks had it for free. Even worse some of the poor have benefitted and of course the Ecuador railway has been rebuilt. How long before New Orleans and New York are rebuilt? Sadly, probably never but that is freedom of choice. The freedom to be homeless because your government will not help. I think somebody once told me it was democracy working.
We Europeans sometimes think that Americans think the rest of the world is mostly inhabited by cannibals, savages, terrorists, gnomes, wicked witches etc.
The fact of them matter is that trains run in Eritrea every day. Foreigners visit on a reasonable scale. Nobody has been attacked or killed so where is the problem?
I would be much more scared about going around New York at night but then I suppose that's what the "free" world does to you.
Come to Eritrea. It is wonderful and the people are so friendly. It is one of the most glorious steam paradises on earth. And you will neither be attacked, killed or flattened or flooded by a hurricane. And you will never regret one of the most wonderful experiences of your life.
