Cast iron welding

The pipe might still be repairable, even if the end is melted off. Probably much cheaper than making a new casting.

There is a company named Lock-N-Stitch in Turlock Cal that I have had very good luck with. They cast iron welded a superheater header for me. They gas welded to the broken area with cast iron rod, building up the part that was missing.

They would need to do a test weld on it to see if it's weldable. Not all cast iron is. Probably worth a try.
