The car may have been given standard gauge trucks and either served as a branch line coach or as a company service car. The trucks may have been widened and new wheel sets installed, as wood framed passenger trucks would be fairly easy to convert.

Back here the narrow gauge passenger coaches of the Kansas Central served the railroad for a number of years on standard gauge trucks after the gauge was changed. This was a common occurance for cash strapped railroads that were converting gauge.
