A particular gentleman in Wisconsin restored many rail cars in his time. He built a Rio Grande narrow gauge caboose to go along with a flat car and 2-6-0 locomotive that he bought from the Huckleberry Railroad. This set of equipment was sold to some mining museum in Minnesota, and since then has been sold and moved to Japan.
He is also the same guy who restored a wooden Milwaukee Road observation car, The Lake City. This is a beautiful car that the Illinois Railway Museum is planning on trucking to its museum site.
One other car that IRM is not taking to Union is a narrow gauge wooden coach.
This car was built from parts salvaged from a Quincy and Torch Lake car. The current thinking about this car is that it's not built to duplicate any particular railroad but it sure does look authentic.
