Sierra Nevada and Pacific's proposed schedule for 2012 for their new contract operation of the Wallowa Union Railroad in NE Oregon. These trains should be powered by former Yreka Western #19. (SNAP and YWRR have the same management.)
Saturdays June 30th to October 27th - Steam powered train from Elgin to Wallowa and return (80 mile RT)
Sundays July 1 to September 16th - Elgin to Joseph (63 miles one-way); layover at Joseph on Monday; return to Elgin on Tuesday (63 miles one way) - Once a month this has a two-day layover and returns on Wednesday. Though not listed as steam powered, they have to be according to the rest of the schedule.
Mondays July 2 to September 17 (and one Tuesday per month) - Steam powered train from Joseph to Wallowa and return (46 mile RT). (Overnight train's layover days at Joseph.)
Sundays - September 23 to October 28 - Steam powered train from Elgin to Wallowa and return (80 mile RT)
Don't forget that the Sumpter Valley is within a 100 miles and runs Saturday, Sunday and holidays beginning Memorial Day weekend through September, with a photo special weekend in October. www.svry.com
