with all due respect, it is neither unconscionable nor unprecedented. FRA does this kind of stuff all the time to the "big" railroads. Their mandate is to shut down a carrier when serious unsafe conditions are found by their inspectors. They did what they were supposed to do.
It's very unlikely a congressman would intervene in such a thing. Besides, the railroad has a plan to address the problems and correct the situation, and resume full operations.
Where is it written that this railroad MUST run at all costs and at all risks?
BTW, those of you attacking Kit Miniclir, the Denver Post reporter: He is a railfan and a friend of Colorado steam railroads. He just reported the facts, no matter how distasteful those facts may be to some of us.
