With all the C&TS's assets -- great scenery, all kinds of authentic equipment, regular tourist trains, freight specials for railfans, the most complete historic railroad in the country -- the C&TS is bound to benefit from operating Polar Express schedules in additional to its other offerings. Got to give it a try!
But let's not forget that this will be a real test of the railroad's ability to attract riders to a remote spot in early winter with unpredictable mountain weather and with most lodging and recreation oriented to summer attractions. Oh, don't forget to turn on the heat and light in the coaches.
