I know the the Colorado and Southern used the D&RGW third rail from Buena Vista to Leadville from 1911 to 1926 to access the isolated Buena Vista to Romley line after trout creek pass was closed (part of the old south park mainline to Gunnison). The D&RGW's ng blue river branch from Leadville to Dillon was traded for the C&S Baldwin branch in 1911. The C&S never used the blue river branch since it had a line parrallel to it and it was removed by I believe 1924 and I don't believe the D&RGW ran many if any trains on the branch after 1911.
So my question is, did the D&RGW even use the third rail from Buena Vista to Leadville or was it only used only by the C&S from 1911 to its removal in 1926.
