I would like to share your optimism with the new UTU negotiated contract. I will reserve judgment until I read it. UTU has a history of big announcements and poor delivery.
Their widely heralded "black box" technology agreement will do nothing but, once again, screw the youngest members. Why? Many engineers have conductors rights. If their yard jobs are eliminated due to "remote technology", the youngest conductors will be out on the street. Once again, big bluster with bad ramifications.
There are other things, but the UTU is trying so hard to screw the BLE that the members of both Unions are getting trampled in the process.
