Re: Information on SV cars

Grant IMO many of us railfans today are much more concious and interested in the nuts and bolts of how the rr's operated on a day to day basis and sincerly want to know very specific details about the cars, locomotives and structures, more than perhaps was the case when "Rails Sagebrush and Pine" was written. No criticism of the author intended. It was written something like 30 plus years ago. There is a lot of information that has surfaced on the SVRy. Many things have come out here on this forum. There is a need for someone to pull all the newer info together along with what is in "Rails Sagebrush and Pine" and put together a new work. There are for instance several private photo collections that have not been published that would really put the icing on a new work. There has been talk within our organization of doing this but haven't heard that anyone is actually working on it. Bob Bergstrom that is one of the sponsors of this board, is the official SVRy archivist and has about as much info on file as anyone and is a great guy to chat with about the SVRy.
