As the rods for No 40 have been polished we discoverd that not one rod is from that engine. It appears that No 40 has a rod from each engine in its IRCA class. Even more intresting was the fact that the sand dome is stamped with a different engine # of the same class. We do know that it was involved in a wreck some time when it was in Central America and this may account for the mismatched sand dome. We also dicoverd that Sister No 44 had been running with 40's fuel bunker! Other than that not much is new. Machining continues on the brasses etc. The boiler has been lagged ang jacketed, and the tender is now completely letterd for the White Pass. Josh
