We are getting pilot plows and wedge plows mixed up. The large plows that were as high as the headlights were called wedge plows. There were a limited number of engines equipped with these. The plows were removed in the spring. The D&RG once had to send one from Leadville to the RGS. I am not sure how many were built for the mudhens. The 3rd division out of Salida and Gunnison didn't need them because they had wedge gon 09271.
