I believe that you are referring to the cars just north of Alva, OK off of US281.
They had flats,stocks (painted blue!!!) and gons as I recall.
The first time I saw them I was chasing 3751 which had just crossed under the highway about 30 seconds prior.
So here I am looking at this 4-8-4 when suddenly all of the D&RGW ng equipment comes into view.
Nearly drove off the road...
