Can't blame Al Perlman for everything (well you can if you want). The late Don Rogers was connected to A. Rice (an old name with the Rio Grande)by marriage. Don said that a C-48 in Denver had it's number plate and other items removed and given to him at the direction of Rice. These artifacts are now on a wall at the Colo RR Museum. Don also said that Rice gave a few bells from locomotives to some churches in the mountains. And, after the SG engines were scrapped that Rice said he "should have saved a couple of 3600s."
