Let's also include a backshop along with that 10 stall roundhouse with room for two ongoing restorations! You could send each locomotive in for a complete frame up restoration. (not unlike the type William Pettican posted about) If it took two to three years to complete each one, you would eventually have a fleet of 6 operational locomotives, 2 getting necessary work, and 2 in the backshop. Of course we would need hopper cars of cash to do, but then you would have a much better fleet and less time on each locomotive as you could rotate power more. But back to the serious question of the post. I completely agree that the 492/494/495/483 should have what ever needs to be done to preserve them till they get their turn in the shop.
