I have always been told where I work, steel toed boots are an option. Most of the stuff if dropped on your foot could bend the steel toe enought to cut your toes off. So no one in our shop wears them. I know it sounds weird but we have over a hundred years o experience in our shop and i guess they have seen it all happen. SO i take there word for it,
