Re: 453s Whistle

One of the reasons I loved visiting Golden Spike NHS was Eric's whistle collection. More often than not, he had one of them mounted on the No. 119. I have video of the engine sounding off with the T-12 whistle on it...by far one of the best sounding whistles I've heard. If I remember correctly Eric also used his NYC five chime once or twice, but it was a little to modern to look right on an 1860s 4-4-0. And still out there somewhere is the Nathan 5 chime from D&RGW 474, which was once part of the collection at Heber City, Utah. Eric tells me it was once mounted on SP 2-6-0 No. 1744 for a short time, and also used on Sierra 36 when it made its last run. As far as I know, it vanished when the 'Creeper closed down in 1990. Anyone know where this one ended up?
