The CTC and rock slide detection system through the Gorge is in service.
Part of the sale agreement for that segment of the line was that Union Pacific retains dispatching and signal control.
Some (but not all) of the dragging equipment detectors have been disconnected, but otherwise the signal system functions as it did when the line was a through route. If you ride the CC&RG tourist train and look ahead you'll see the signals with a cheery green indication, and look behind and the signal will be red.
