The spur that was off the San Juan line 10 or so miles east of Durango was the La Plata Coal & Iron Co. of 1891 to 1906. A brief history of it and a map is in RGS Story Volume IX - portion by W. George Cook. The Maxwell Collection will sell you a great plan of the entire branch. That was not known at the time of publication. PRR
